2025 FireSmart Rebate – Document Submission

If you have completed an eligible FireSmart rebate 2025/26 application (and been advised by FireSmart staff that you are eligible), and have now completed the mitigation work you wish to submit for 50% reimbursement, you are ready for STEP 4 – Submitting Final Documentation.

Use the form on this webpage to submit all documentation for your rebate. To submit personal labour hours, use the FireSmart Work Hours Worksheet and upload it once completed as part of your document submission on this webpage.

The personal information you submit through the FireSmart BC Rebate Program Application Form(s) – including your name, residential and email address, exterior photos of your property and contact number – is collected by the CVRD pursuant to Section 26 (c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (the Act), solely for the purpose of responding to your request to participate in this program. Personal information will only be used for the purpose to which it was collected, unless its release is authorized by its owner or is compelled by a Court or an agent duly authorized under another Act. Your personal information may be shared with FireSmart BC if you qualify for the rebate program in order to facilitate funding. Current Burning Permissions
Open burning—or burning outdoors—is allowed when the wildfire risk is low and can be a useful tool when conducted responsibly. Open burning includes Category 1 campfire, Category 2, and Category 3 open fire.

Regional Water Use Restrictions
During drought conditions, your water system operator may introduce water use restrictions to conserve limited water supplies. There are four stages of water restrictions which are coordinated across the Cowichan Valley. Local conditions may sometimes require a higher stage of water restrictions on certain systems.
